(2-3 minute read)

Election Day: Tuesday, May 13, 2025

Voting hours: 7:00 am - 8:00 pm

Location: Hawkes Fieldhouse at Reading Memorial High School (62 Oakland Road)

The Town of Reading is holding a Special Election tomorrow, and all registered voters are encouraged to participate in shaping the future of our community.

What’s on the ballot?

Voters will decide on two important debt exclusion questions - both related to major capital projects that impact education, community wellness, and town infrastructure:

Article 1: Killam School Building Project

A proposed new elementary school building to replace the existing Killam School, originally built in 1968. The project includes significant funding support from the Massachusetts School Building Authority (MSBA).

Article 2: Reading Center for Active Living (ReCAL)

A proposed new community center is designed to replace the Pleasant Street Center. This facility would expand programming and services for older adults and the broader community.

Learn more about these projects and watch informative videos in one of our previous articles.
