Community Cleanup Day at Maillet, Sommes, and Morgan Conservation area Saturday

Updated May 9, 2025: Due to impending rain, the community cleanup is moving to the rain date on Saturday, May 17. Volunteers who pre-registered will receive a brief email with this info.


Join your neighbors for a day of outdoor volunteer work as we care for Reading’s conservation land! Help clear trails, pick up litter, and improve the beauty, safety, and accessibility of our cherished green spaces.

Date: Saturday, May 17* (rain date)

Time: 10:00 am - 3:00 pm

Location: 62 Willow Street, Reading

Limited parking available for drop-offs only. Overflow parking is available at Austin Prep.

Cleanup projects include

  • Trash and debris pickup on trails

  • Stormwater forebay cleanup

  • Adding woodchips to the Summit Path and Aberjona Trail

  • ADA pathway maintenance

  • Erosion control improvements

  • Sign installation

What to bring

  • Gloves and sturdy shoes

  • Trash bags, rakes, loppers, buckets, or wheelbarrows

  • Please note: NO power tools are allowed.

Snacks and water will be provided!
