Memorial Day - remember and honor

This Memorial Day Monday, May 26, 2025, The Town of Reading invites all residents to join in a day of remembrance, reflection, and gratitude. As w commemorate 250 years since the start of the American Revolution, we also pause to honor and remember all those who have given their lives in service to our country.

Parade and cemetery service schedule

9:00 am - Parade begins

The day will begin with a parade starting at the American Legion on Ash Street. All veterans are welcome and encouraged to attend and participate.

9:15 am - Laurel Hill Cemetery service

A solemn ceremony will be held to honor fallen service members.

10:45 am - Forest Glen Cemetery service

Community members will gather for a second service of remembrance.

11:30 am - Charles Lawn Cemetery service

Veterans, families, and residents will join in continued tribute to the fallen.

12:00 noon - Wood End Cemetery service

The final service of the day will take place at Wood End Cemetery.
