Reading rolls out new trash & recycling carts for all residents

In April, the Town of Reading successfully delivered 16,296 brand-new trash and recycling carts to households across town who currently receive municipal waste collection services. This town-wide rollout is part of the preparations for a new trash and recycling collection contract that will go into effect in July 2026.

Residents are encouraged to begin using the new carts immediately.
