Get ready to clean out your basement, garage, and closets - Reading’s Department of Public Works (DPW) is hosting its annual Spring Recycling Drop-Off Event this Saturday, May 17, 2025, from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm at the DPW Garage, 75 Newcrossing Road.
This year’s event includes expanded offerings, making it easier than ever to responsibly dispose of hard-to-recycle items and give them a second life.

What you can drop off
Paper Shredding - securely shred old documents on-site
Electronic Recycling - safely recycle outdated tech
Rigid Plastics - includes bins, buckets, and other hard plastics
Styrofoam - Drop off clean, white Styrofoam for recycling
Textiles - bring clothing, shoes, and household linens
Old trash & Recycling Carts - if you haven’t repurposed your old carts, bring them here!
