Proposed projects
Reading Center for Active Living (ReCAL)
The Reading Center for Active Living (ReCAL) project proposes the construction of a new senior-focused community center on Symonds Way. The facility will also provide space for town-wide recreation, elder services, and veterans services. This new center is designed to support a growing need for accessible, inclusive spaces for all residents.
Killam School Building
The Killam School Building project will replace the existing Killam School, which has never undergone major renovations or improvements. As part of the Massachusetts School Building Authority (MSBA) program, the state will contribute over $44 million towards the total cost of the new school. This project is crucial to ensuring modern, safe, and high-quality educational facilities for Reading’s students.
